Samsung Wave II S8530, the latest high-end mobile phone the leading South Korean handset vendor brought to the market with its own bada operating system on board, is now available for purchase in Germany.
The new device has landed on shelves in one of the largest mobile markets in Europe with a price tag of €429 ($567) attached to it, if purchased from Samsung themselves, but one would also find it available for €291,82 at Amazon.de.
For those who might have not encountered the device before, we should note that it is one of the most appealing bada mobile phones that the company launched during the last year.
The handset sports a 3.7-inch Super LCD touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and HD (720p) video recording capabilities.
The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes an ARM Cortex A8 application processor that runs at 1GHz, as well as 2 GB of internal storage, complemented by a microSD memory card slot that support up to 32GB of additional space.
The new bada handset also sports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options, as well as HSDPA 3.6 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps capabilities, microUSB v2.0, Stereo FM radio with RDS, FM recording, and 3.5 mm audio jack.
Other specifications of this device include a scratch-resistant oleophobic surface, the TouchWiz UI 3.0 thrown on top of the bada OS, handwriting recognition, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, GPS receiver, HTML browser, support for email, and enhanced multimedia capabilities.
Samsung Wave II S8530 measures 123.9 x 59.8 x 11.8 mm and weighs in at 135 g. It packs a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that can offer up to 500 hours of standby time, and up to 6 hours of talk time on 3G.
This year, Samsung is expected to focus on the development of bada, and aims at selling a number of over 10 million handsets running under it during the first half of the year alone.
