10'' Samsung Galaxy Tab Showcased

South Korean electronics giant Samsung reportedly brought to light at a trade show in China the already rumored 10-inch Galaxy Tab Android-based tablet PC.

The company actually came out with an “e-reader” that boasts a 10-inch screen, and which boasts the same looks as the Galaxy Tab tablet PC, though sporting a larger display.

Basically, this means that the next version of Galaxy Tab, which was rumored before to be set for release sometime in the first half of the next year, would look the same as the e-reader.

According to a recent article on CNN, the device was even showcased while making a video call, not to mention that is sports exactly the same buttons as Galaxy Tab does.

The new device sports a 10-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 1024 x 600 pixels (WSVGA) resolution and a 1,000:1 aspect ratio.

According to the aforementioned article, the upcoming device also comes with a significant decrease in weight, which could arrive in other similar devices too.

At the FPD International Green Device 2010 trade-show in China, Samsung brought a series of other devices too, showcasing some of its latest innovations in the display area.

We already reported on the upcoming availability of a new, 7-inch AMOLED display for a new Galaxy Tab, one that might arrive on shelves sometime in the second half of the next year.

Moreover, there were also some smaller, 4.5-inch AMOLED screens that the company showcased at the trade show, better fitted for the next gen smartphones.

According to an article on Samsung Hub, the 10-inch display Samsung demoed at the event was 1.88mm thick. Moreover, the news site says that the screen uses plastic, which makes it ultra-thin and unbreakable.

For the time being, however, there are still a wide range of details unknown on the device on which the new screen was showcased, but we might learn pretty soon that Samsung launched it as the larger,10'' Galaxy Tab tablet PC.
