Jeff Glueck, Skyfire CEO went on record to announce that their popular Flash-centric application for iOS is now available without any restrictions from the iTunes App Store. Due to high demand, the application was only available for download in batches.
“The Skyfire team has been hard at work expanding the service given the popularity of Skyfire for iPhone and iPod Touch,” Glueck writes.
“The team here was gratified to have reached the Top Grossing and Top Selling spots on the App Store, as well as #1 selling in the Utilities category.”
Glueck reminds those reading the Skyfire blog that, “On November 5th we announced Skyfire for iPhone would be available in ‘limited batches’. I’m glad to report that we have been able to add a large number of users since then smoothly, with no limitations, and uninterrupted service,” the CEO confirms.
According to his update, the company has high hopes for their U.S. servers which should ensure a seamless download experience for everyone in the country.
He also confirms that Canada has been ticked on the map as a supported territory, meaning residents can immediately access iTunes to download the three dollar app.
“Last week we added availability in Canada. UK and Ireland are up next and will go live soon,” Glueck reveals. “We plan to roll out additional countries after that. Follow us on twitter or Facebook for updates,” the CEO writes.
The Skyfire exec doesn’t forget to mention that an iPad version of the Flash-porting software is also in the works.
“A number of you have asked about an iPad version of Skyfire, and we are working on an iPad-optimized version. No dates to promise yet, but we hope to have news before the end of this year,” Glueck claims.
He suggests that users who employ the Apple tablet as their primary device should hold off and wait for the iPad version to be rolled out. The iPad installment will also have “a host of extra features,” the CEO said.
Finally, the Skyfire boss reveals that Android users have a lot to look forward to as well. He notes that there’s “some big product news” in store for Android users.
Unfortunately, though, “It’s under wraps for a few more days, but those of you who love social networking and browsing both can expect to like this,” Glueck notes.
“Skyfire pioneered web browsing with a dedicated cloud service and we want to take things to the next level. Stay tuned,” the Skyfire CEO concludes.
