Tomorrow is a day we’ll never forget, Apple claims via a message posted to the homepage of apple.com. The announcement will be iTunes-related, the company confirms. The web site shows four clocks for four different time zones indicating when the announcement will go live.
“Tomorrow is just another day. That you’ll never forget.
Check back here tomorrow for an exciting announcement from iTunes.”
According to the banner, the announcement will go live at 7:00 am in California, at 10:00 am in New York, at 3:00 pm in London, and at midnight in Tokio.
It’s anybody’s guess what Apple has in store for iTunes customers. We have our money on a coud-related announcement, with recent reports saying Apple has finished its North Carolina based data center which is believed to act as a server farm.
However, nothing is really known for sure about the actual purpose of the 500,000 square foot facility. The site will be at least five times the size of Apple’s largest Newark-based server facility.
iTunes is one of the main pillars of Apple’s business with every product that the company makes having dependencies on the service.
The iTunes desktop application has undergone a few major changes in the last few years, with additions like the iTunes App Store, Genius, and Ping.
The service is set to become the platform for Apple’s upcoming Mac App Store, which should replicate the success and popularity of the venue targeting iOS devices at the moment.
Apple is also rumored to be working on a subscription-based music service that would fall in line with the existing pay-per-download system.
Softpedia will be keeping its ears to the ground for any new developments until Apple decides to go live with tomorrow’s announcement.
In the meanwhile, readers are free to begin their speculation in the comments.
